The main difference is the slider has the capability to multiply the values of any elements in the same subsection, whereas the number input box does not.

Some users might have to reverse might have to swap a slider for a quantity box, and vice versa to achieve their desired result.

There is a way to have the slider functionality in a number input box, to enable it, expand the advanced options, enable 'Append Quantity Input Box', and enable 'Convert to Quantity Input Box' option.
